Healthy Sitting Posture to Reduce Back Pain

The typical posture in the US changed around 1920, and now 80% of Americans suffer from serious low back pain at some point in their lives. This video will teach you simple guidelines for pain-free sitting that you can start practicing right away, wherever you are.

When you change your sitting posture you can reduce back and joint pain and feel much more comfortable and relaxed while sitting. Rather than squirming around constantly, you’ll be able to sit longer, more comfortably.

Many people complain of back pain from sitting, and this is the easiest position to start with to improve your posture in general.

The Balance Posture Method is based on the work of Noelle Perez-Christiaens and Jean Couch, who have studied healthy posture in less industrialized cultures for decades. This is the same posture that all children have up until age 3, even in the US. After 3 we imitate those around us and lose our natural alignment in industrialized countries.
